The Blue Hearts Story
The heart of the Band has remained constant over the years
Nigel Cushion -Lead  Guitar
Ken Anderson - Rhythm Guitar
Chris Wyatt - Bass
Paul Fereday - Drums

Where did it all begin? The answer an east London comprehensive around 1996.
Take a Maths, Art and DT teacher with a love of music and you have the basis for the Blue Hearts
It grew from jam sessions in the music room with Nigel, Chris and Ken to school concerts with Drum Teacher Len Sachs
Not sure where the idea to form a band came from it just emerged

Add an ex pupil Steve Casey on vocals and keyboards and another DT teacher ,Paul on drums and the first incarnation of the Blue Hearts was born
The name came from a brainstorming session and the logo from a computer graphic
The first few gigs went well and soon Sue joined on vocals with her daughter occasionally completing the line up.

This was the line up for a couple of years and when Sue left Barbara joined for a short period and then we were fortunate to get classically trained Jo on vocals

Unfortunately Jo moved south of the river and Steve down onto the Essex coast. The band was in a bit of a limbo for a while until Brad joined us on vocals for a year or two.

When he left to do some solo work fate played a hand when a parent’s evening lead us to Gloria coming on board to provide powerful vocals.

This line up continued for a few years until Evangeline joined us -she brought her amazing gospel based vocals to the band as well as lowering the average age considerably. She has recemtly moved on to pursue her solo career

The current lineup now features Diane on vocals, coming from a musical theatre background she brings a wealth of experience and a freshness to the band
